Hanebergstraße Student Housing

Munich, Germany

2017-2019

This exciting project in Munich, Germany, is a large-scale student accommodation complex for the client SIGNA, handled by the Munich office of HPP Architects. The project involved a complex hybrid of adaptive reuse and new construction to deliver 234 residential units within a 323,000 SF (30,000 Sq Meter ) area across two connected buildings. The scope included the renovation and vertical extension of an existing two-story structure, and the design of an adjacent, newly constructed eight-story building.

As Project Designer, I was integral to the design development for both the renovation and new construction components. My key contributions focused on the critical task of coordinating the seamless integration between the existing structure and the new tower, ensuring precise alignment of floor levels, circulation, and egress paths. I managed portions of the Revit model, including phasing and existing conditions, and played a significant role in producing the comprehensive permit documentation in strict compliance with German building codes (HOAI LPH 3–4). The result is a cohesive residential complex with a unified architectural language and improved urban presence.
